Somaliland Has Been Invaded: It is Time to Defend the Nation

I. What has happened

One of Somaliland's six regional capitals, Las Canood capital of Sool region, has been invaded by a foreign army, this foreign army has killed two Somalilanders in the village of Dabataag, this foreign army has also opened fire, live and deadly fire, on the people of Las Canood who protested against the presence of foreign troops on Somaliland soil. This foreign army has also admitted to being behind the terrorist assasination attempt of Somaliland's president earlier this year.

II. Who are the Invaders

The invading army was sent from the Majerteenia region of Somalia and it was sent by the Dictator of that region who's name is Abdullahi Yusuf.

III. Who is Abdullahi Yusuf.

Abdullahi Yusuf is the man who staged a military takeover of Jama Ali Jama's governorship of majerteenia. After having chazed away Jama Ali Jama(elected by elders) out of Majerteenia the dictator convinced himself that he is invincible, that he is larger than life, his ego told him that he will become president of Somalia and Somaliland for that matter, the despot called Abdullahi Yusuf is in other words living in a state of dellusion, he believes himself to be the Napoleon of the Somali people, so in a sense Somaliland is facing a lunatic, a completely insane person who is living in a world of his own. As many of you readers well know, in western Europe or America, when a person looses his mind and becomes a threat to the other people of the society then the authorities in that country lock the person up and give him medecine and some times when that insane person does not respond well to the medecine and still is a threat to society then society takes his life to end the misery for the society as a whole, I think it is time for Somaliland to give this mad man called Abdullahi Yusuf his medecine, in fact I think it is time we put him to sleep for good, in other words it is time to kill him!

IV. What Needs to be Done Immediately?

It is immensly important that president Riyaale give the Somaliland military the green light to take back Las Canod, this should be done immediately. The Somaliland military forces stationed in the village of Oog should take full controll of Las Anod and capture or kill the invaders from Majerteenia loyal to Abdullahi Yusuf. No resources should be spared in this effort to take Las Canod, what ever it takes so be it! President Riyaale as the commander in chief of the Somaliland Armed Forces should know that all of Somaliland stand fully behind the president on this one! If Garowe should be invaded next can be discussed, in my opinion it should not, but it all depends on the enemies next move, but lets first liberate Las Canood from the enemy and then worry about where to go from there!

V. What Happens if Somaliland Does not Re-take Las Canod?

If president Riyaale fails to give the "GO" order to the Somaliland Armed Forces and he leaves Las Canod, a Somaliland city, in the hands of a foreign power, then the credibility of president Riyaale's words will have been damaged, and no one will ever take president Riyaale seriously again. Even worse Somaliland's image will be damaged and we will come across as weak in the eyes of other countries , as cowards who can be pushed around by any bully, and this in itself can be very dangerous in a neighborhood such as The Horn of Africa, it will lead to other groups challanging the sovereignity of Somaliland simply because they will believe that Somaliland will not respond. Furthermore it will be seen as a discriminatory policy by the people of eastern Somaliland, they will say: "If it was Hargeisa or Booraame that was invaded then president Riyaale would have sent the military to fight but Riyaale does not care about eastern Somaliland and that is why he left us to be occupied by a foreign power". In other words Somalilanders will not feel safe in their own country, the person in Erigabo, Ainabo or Las Canod will feel that he is not part of Somaliland and that he have to organise his own clan militias to protect himself, this in my opinion must be avoided. President Riyaale must assure the nation that no Somalilander is less worth than another, "Nin na nin carro ma dheera" as the Ciise say. I urge president Riyaale to act swiftly, decisivly and with force, the mayor of Las Canood is asking for your help, the people of Somaliland from west to east stand behind you in this endeveour, we are ready to do what it takes to protect Somaliland's sovereignity!

VI. A Call For Somaliland Unity

Those Somalilander who waste their time on in-fighting and petty issues are completely out of touch with reality, this is not a time to talk for this kind of nonsense, issues need to be dealt with in order of priority, the number one priority of any country is the safety and well being of its citizens. The reality is, or should I say the grim reality is that The Somaliland Nation is under a military attack, one of Somaliland's six regional capitals is in the hands of a foreign power at the time of this writing, one of Somaliland's mayors are calling for help to his city, the situation is critical, either the people of Somaliland respond to his call or we should never claim that Las Canod is part of Somaliland again. If you do not defend your people then how can you expect your people to claim loyalty to you? It really boggles the mind when I hear people who say "war is not the answer", are these people saying that we should abandone a Somaliland city and let it be in the hands of a foreign power? Would these same people say that if Hargeysa or Boorame was under the hands of Abdullahi Yusuf or is this a case of the famous discrimination against eastern Somaliland?

Riyaale Give the order to the troops, Somalilanders support the war effort, Somaliland move forward, that is the right equation!
